2:30pm The Queen Mary Stakes

Group: 2

Age: 2 (fillies)

Prize: £110,000

Distance: 5 furlongs

Our Royal Ascot tip: Kimari (currently 5/1)

After winning by an impressive 15 lengths on debut at Keeneland, Kimari is set to challenge again at Royal Ascot. Having won the Queen Mary 3 times previously, trainer Wesley Ward loves this distance. A positive sign for Kimari is that of the last 17 winners, 15 had previously won over 5 furlongs or shorter.

3:05pm The Queen’s Vase

Group: 2

Age:  3

Prize: £225,000

Distance: 1 mile, 6 furlongs

Our Royal Ascot tip: Western Australia (currently 3/1)

Of the last 12 races, Aidan O’Brien has won 6 times in the Queen’s Vase, however, this year is only the third year the race is 1 mile, 6 furlongs, having previously been over 2 miles. Western Australia could look to emulate stablemate Kew Gardens, who won this race last year and went on to St Leger glory. After a win at Navan over a similar distance, Western Australia is our Ascot tip.

3:40pm The Prince of Wales Stakes

Group: 1

Age:  4+

Prize: £750,000

Distance: 1 mile, 2 furlongs

Our Royal Ascot tip: Crystal Ocean (currently 4/1)

Trained by Sir Michael Stoute, Crystal Ocean has been on form this season with a hat-trick of Group 3 wins. A tough and consistent performer with good staying power, the 1 mile, 2 furlong course may suit him if conditions are right. Set to be ridden by Frankie Dettori, Crystal Ocean has a great chance to make a successful step-up to Group 1.

4:20pm The Duke of Cambridge Stakes

Group: 2

Age:  4+ (fillies and mares)

Prize: £175,000

Distance: 1 Mile

Our Royal Ascot tip: Veracious (currently 5/1)

Along with stablemate, Rawdaa, Veracious has a great chance after placing in last year’s Coronation Stakes. That impressive performance in just her third run means she could be peaking at the right time despite a disappointing race at Newmarket.

Some interesting trends to keep an eye on here. Of the last 15 winners, 14 have won over a mile before, won a Group 3 (or better) race previously and had at least one run that season.

5:00pm The Royal Hunt Cup

Group: Heritage Handicap

Age:  3+

Prize: £175,000

Distance: 1 mile

Our Royal Ascot tip: Key Victory (currently 12/1)

In the Royal Hunt Cup our Ascot tip, Key Victory, will hope to live up to his name in his first handicap appearance in England. The 4-year-old son of Teofilo is a classy horse, running well in the French Derby and winning 2 flat races previously.

Interesting to note, 14 of the last 17 winners have been 4 or 5 years old.

5:35pm The Windsor Castle Stakes

Group: Listed

Age:  2

Prize: £90,000

Distance: 5 furlongs

Our Royal Ascot tip: Nayibeth (currently 7/1)

Of the last 17 winners at the Windsor Castle Stakes, 16 had run at least once that season and 13 had at least 4 or more career runs. Wesley Ward has had success in this race, having won with Strike the Tiger and Hootenanny and this year he’ll be hoping Nayibeth, Chili Petin or Kimari can make it 3 wins. Nayibeth is the most likely of the 3 after winning over 4 and-a-half furlongs at Keeneland.

We’ve got all the odds on all the races at Royal Ascot.
