3.40 Royal Ascot – Jash

I’ve decided to ride Jash rather than Khaadem but it was a difficult decision as I know that Khaadem is a talented horse and I know that he will love the ground. Jash is a Group 1 horse. He was second in the Middle Park and he’s run over seven furlongs which I think is a massive plus at Ascot, as you really need to stay the trip. His form has worked out really well. He’s by Kodiac and there are soft ground horses in his pedigree so I think he’ll go on the ground. I can’t say for definite but think he will. I hope I’ve made the right decision.

5.00 Royal Ascot – Layaleena

She’s a talented filly and Sir Michael Stoute thinks an awful lot of her. She’s working exceptionally well at home. She ran in the Group 1 Fillies Mile last year because she’d shown so much on the gallops. She won very well last time. The ground is an unknown but she is certainly good enough to win this if she acts on the ground. Unfortunately she’s carrying 8 stone 7 pounds so there won’t be much dinner in the Crowley household for me.

5.35 Royal Ascot – Corgi

He has a great chance. He’s a good solid horse and is drawn okay in nine. He ran a super race first time up at York and he wasn’t match fit that day. He will appreciate cut in the ground and stays really well. He was second last year at Royal Ascot and I think he can go one better this year. He’s probably one of my best rides of the week.
