Altior odds-on for record-breaking win in the Celebration Chase

Star chaser is going for a 19th consecutive win at Sandown

Altior is the odds-on favourite to claim a record 19th consecutive jumps win in Saturday’s Celebration Chase at Sandown, according to our traders.

Nicky Henderson’s star is 4/11 for a third successive win in this renewal, having equalled Big Buck’s record of 18 straight wins at Cheltenham.

Cyrname is second in the betting at 7/4, with Sceau Royal a 9/2 shot. Cyrname is also 4/7 favourite in the Oaksey Chase on the same card.

“Unsurprisingly Altior is odds-on favourite to record 19th consecutive victory over jumps.

However, those odds would lengthen if the highest-rated chaser in training was among his Celebration Chase rivals this weekend, although a clash is by no means certain, with Cyrname himself odds-on for the Oaksey Chase,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
