Will favourite Tiger Roll make history with Grand National repeat?

He’s threatening a record that’s stood for a century

Tiger Roll’s chances of a repeat Grand National success have been trimmed as more bets pour in for Gordon Elliott’s charge, according to our traders.

Having won the Aintree showpiece last year, Tiger Roll is now 4/1 (was 5/1) to win this year’s renewal.

If Tiger Roll’s odds continue to tumble, he could threaten Poethlyn’s record as the shortest-priced winner ever from 1919.

Anibale Fly is back at 10/1 as second-favourite, with Rathvinden not far behind as a 12/1 shot in third.

“The shortest priced Grand National winner ever was Poethlyn, who triumphed at odds of 11/4 100 years ago, and although National day is the most unique day of the year when the general public comes out to bet, it’s not impossible that Tiger Roll could threaten that century old record next month,” reckoned Coral’s David Stevens.
