Betting preview and odds for Six Nations Round 5

A first Grand Slam since 2012 is within Wales’ grasp at 8/11. But slip-up at home to Ireland and England could steal in to win the competition with victory over Scotland at Twickenham.

Eddie Jones’ men are 5/4 to claim an overall tournament win on what should be a frenetic final day of action in the 2019 Six Nations. It’s one we’ve previewed with a full selection of tips.

Italy v France – Saturday, 12:30pm, ITV

The Italians have already claimed the wooden spoon for the fifth year in a row. It’s unlikely things will get much better against a French side who are reeling from a disappointing Six Nations.

Jacques Brunel and co. haven’t had any trouble scoring points. They’ve got 68 to their name. But 104 against tells its own story. They should prevail at 2/7, although a below-par defence could let Italy in.

The hosts are 8/13 on the +13.0 Handicap or 10/11 on the +9.5. France make similar appeal on the 1-12 Point Winning Margin market at 5/4.

Wales v Ireland, Saturday, 2:45pm, BBC One

The Millennium Stadium will be packed to the rafters for this one. But the home crowd may not get things their own way early on. Warren Gatland’s men have scored seven of their nine tries in the 2019 Six Nations after the break.

With that in mind, the second-half is 5/6 to be the highest scoring, with Ireland an 11/10 poke to win the first-half of the match. However, the Welsh should still emerge triumphant.

They’ve come through challenge after challenge this year and are 5/6 to prevail once again. George North will lead the charge, although it’s Josh Adams who has scored in each of the last three matches.

Both will be crucial again in what could be a tight match. Wales are 7/4 to win the contest by a 1-10 Point Margin as a result.

England v Scotland, Saturday, 5pm, ITV

England will have to wait for the outcome in Cardiff to know whether they can win the Six Nations. They should make light work of vastly underwhelming Scotland in the Calcutta Cup regardless.

The Coral traders have the hosts down as 1/16 favourites to win this Six Nations clash for the 14th time in a row since 1991, with a wide-margin win also expected.

Jonny May and co. have been in scintillating form throughout the tournament, top scoring with an incredible 146 points and 19 tries so far. It’s 2/1 they win by an 11-20 Point Margin, with 5/6 about them on the -17.5 Handicap.
