Betting preview for home nations qualifiers

Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland are all in action today as the Euro 2020 qualifiers continue with no fewer than 10 matches throughout the afternoon and evening.

There’s also the small matter of Netherlands v Germany, while Belgium will be hoping to make it two wins from two in Group I against Cyprus.

Netherlands v Germany

Germany came unstuck in spectacular fashion the last time they went to Amsterdam. A disappointing 1-1 draw with Serbia four days ago doesn’t hint at much improvement.

Ronald Koeman’s men, on the other hand, are ship-shape at the moment and have won eight of their last nine matches at home. That includes a 4-0 defeat of Belarus on Thursday night.

The Dutch are 6/4 for another win and 19/5 to do so without conceding for the fourth time in a row on home turf. Defensive rock Virgin van Dijk popped up against Belarus. He’s 7/1 to net again here.

Northern Ireland v Belarus

Belarus might seem like a tricky test for Northern Ireland. But take into account the visitors have only managed to beat the likes of San Marino, Luxembourg and Burkina Faso in the last 18 months and it looks much easier.

Michael O’Neill’s men got back to winning ways against Estonia and should be able to take all three points once again. They’re 8/11 to Win and 11/8 to Win to Nil against their goal-shy opponents.

Kyle Lafferty is top of the goalscoring list at 9/5, although it’s Steven Davis who has shouldered the burden lately. He’s 11/2 for his third goal in four matches at Windsor Park.

Wales v Slovakia

Four wins in 14 matches isn’t a good look for Wales, especially with two of those against the Republic of Ireland and the other pair versus China and Trinidad & Tobago.

That suggests this clash could be a bit of a slog. Slovakia are a robust side who don’t concede many – they’ll set-up to frustrate and hit Wales on the counter-attack.

If Wales do win it’s likely to be with Under 3.5 Goals in the match at 8/5, with the Draw at 21/10. Gareth Bale should be back at least, he holds the key for Ryan Giggs and co. at 7/5 Anytime and 16/5 to Score First.

San Marino v Scotland

Even Scotland should be able to get past San Marino. Their hosts are the worst team in world football according to the FIFA rankings and have scored just 23 times in their entire history.

Alex McLeish’s men are 1/25 to bounce back with a win and 27/20 to do so with Over 4.5 Goals in the match. In terms of goalscorers, AFC Bournemouth ace Ryan Fraser has been in great form this season.

He’ll have plenty of space to play and is 13/2 to Score 2 or More, with Marc McNulty, Oliver McBurnie and Oliver Burke all at 4/9 Anytime.

Cyprus v Belgium

Belgium are scoring goals for fun under Roberto Martinez. The 2018 World Cup semi-finalists have struck twice or more in seven of their last eight matches and should make light work of Cyprus.

An away win is priced at 2/13, with a Belgium Win and Over 3.5 Goals at 31/20. It’s 4/1 they score inside the opening 10 minutes and 9/2 for Eden Hazard to continue his hot streak by Scoring 2 or More.
