Dynamo Kiev v Chelsea Betting Tips: Blues to cruise into the quarter-finals?

Published:

Odds and preview for Europa League clash

Chelsea just need to avoid a disaster against Dynamo Kiev tonight to seal their place in the Europa League quarter-finals, having beaten them 3-0 in the last-16 first leg last week.

But we’ve seen that anything can happen over two legs in recent weeks. The Blues can’t afford to get complacent.

We’ve got all the pre-match odds before it gets started at 5:55pm on BT Sport 3…

Head-to-Head

These sides had only met twice before last week’s meeting.

Both of those games came in the 2015/16 Champions League group stage. The Blues won 2-1 at Stamford Bridge and drew 0-0 in Kiev.

Likely XIs

With a comfortable lead, Maurizio Sarri is likely to change things up. That means Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Callum Hudson-Odoi are both in line for starts. Davide Zappacosta and Marcos Alonso could get a run-out in the full-back spots too.

Benjamin Verbic returns from suspension for the hosts. The winger should help Dynamo cause more problems than they did in the first leg. He’ll likely replace Vitaliy Buyalskiy, who’s picked up a ban of his own.

Key Battles

Loftus-Cheek and Hudson-Odoi will both be eager to impress and stake a claim for more regular action.

Hudson-Odoi’s ability to beat his man and whip crosses in could create plenty of chances for Olivier Giroud in attack.

But Chelsea could be vulnerable at the back with an unfamiliar defence. Zappacosta in particular has seen very little football this year. Dynamo will want to target the Italian if they’re going to claw their way back into this tie.

Match Odds

Our traders can’t see Chelsea having too many problems here. They’re 19/20 to win on the night. With Dynamo needing to go for it to have any chance, we go 13/4 for Chelsea and Both Teams to Score.

Dynamo are back at 10/3 in the outright betting, with 5/2 about the draw.

Giroud has fired in six goals in the Europa League this term. He’s 4/1 to open the scoring or 17/10 anytime.

Loftus-Cheek and Hudson-Odoi both have three goals each in Europe too. They’re at 14/5 and 12/5 respectively to add to their haul.

Viktor Tsygankov looks like Dynamo’s best hope at 3/1 anytime, with Verbic not far behind at 7/2.
