Latest Odds, preview and news for Serie A matchweek 23

Serie A is back for another weekend of high-octane action, with the chasing pack looking to cut runaway leaders Juventus’ gap at the top.

After a morale-boosting 3-3 draw in Turin against the leaders Juve, Parma’s attention turns to third-placed Inter Milan. Napoli will look to put some pressure on leaders Juventus by beating Fiorentina, with Atalanta hoping to continue their push for Champions League qualification in their game against SPAL.

Parma v Inter (Saturday, 7:30pm)

Parma boss Roberto D’Aversa got the response he was looking for from his side after their defeat to SPAL by coming from two down to draw against champions Juventus.

He’ll be looking for his side to push on and pick up all three points this weekend against an Inter side that have lost their last two in the league. Parma will also be encouraged by the last time the two teams faced each other, with Gialloblu dispatching I Nerazzurri in a 1-0 victory at San Siro.

Despite the formbook, our traders still have the Milan giants as favourite for the win at 4/6. Parma may thrive as underdogs, and they’re out at 4/1 to pick up a home win. It’s bound to be a close encounter, with under 1.5 goals priced at 13/5. Parma will be hoping for a repeat of the earlier fixture, and they’re 12/1 to win the match 1-0.

Fiorentina v Napoli (Saturday, 5pm)

Carlo Ancelotti and his Napoli side lead the pack trying to chase down Juve to claim the Serie A title. They’re flying again this season having lost three of their 22 matches.

Fiorentina are currently sat in ninth, but they’re not having a particularly bad season. They’ve only lost five, but along with Torino, they lead the league in matches drawn with 10. They’ll be hoping to turn some of these draws into wins, starting against Gli Azzurri.

Napoli won the first meeting this season 1-0 with Lorenzo Insigne netting the only goal of the game late on. They’re 10/11 favourites to run out winners in this encounter too.

Fiorentina smashed Roma 7-1 in the Coppa Italia at the end of January, but only drew their last league match away at Udinese. They’re priced at 14/5 to win this battle, and with Viola being the leagues draw specialists, a stalemate in this one is as little as 5/2.

Atalanta v SPAL (Sunday, 2pm)

Atalanta continue to defy the odds and battle for a European spot year on year. They’re on a hot run of form recently in all competitions, being unbeaten in their last five league matches, and dispatching Juventus from the Coppa Italia with ease.

After not notching a win in 11 league matches before beating Parma in matchweek 21, SPAL will be looking to extend their unbeaten league run to three games, as their look to pick up only their sixth league win of the season and move further clear of the relegation battle below.

Le Dea are unsurprisingly hot favourites to keep the momentum for their push for European football. Our traders have priced an Atalanta victory at 3/10.

Stranger things than a SPAL victory over Atalanta have happened, as has been proved in their earlier fixture where I Biancazzurri ran out 2-0 winners. They’re heavy outsiders for this one, priced at 10/1 to claim three points.

Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata has been a sensation for the team this season and is the third highest scorer in the league with 15. He’s 9/4 favourite to open the scoring, 6/10 to score anytime and 15/8 to bag 2 or more.

Best of the rest

League leaders Juventus will want to at least maintain the nine-point gap at the top of the league. They’re up away to Sassuolo at the Mapei Stadium.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice in a 2-1 win in the first meeting this season and Juve are favourites to win again at 4/7. Ronaldo is 8/13 to net anytime, or 15/8 to score two or more again. Sassuolo are out at 24/5 to notch a win.

Cagliari haven’t won in the league since late December, and their matches get no easier for them. They’re playing AC Milan at the San Siro in matchweek 23.

Milan are unbeaten in their last five league games, notching notable draws against Napoli and Roma in that period. They’ve climbed to fourth in the table and will be looking to keep the pressure on Inter just ahead of them.

I Rossoneri are 4/9 favourites for the win, and that’s no surprise with their latest striker signing Krzysztof Piatek hitting the ground running netting twice on debut. He’s 21/10 to score first, or 8/13 to net anytime. Cagliari are 7/1 outsiders for the three points.
