Solskjaer odds-on to be Man Utd boss next season

Brendan Rodgers’s odds have been cut from 7/4 into 5/4 to be the next Leicester manager, following strong support for the former Liverpool manager in the betting to replace Claude Puel.

The Frenchman parted ways with the Foxes following Saturday’s 4-1 loss at home to Crystal Palace.

David Wagner, Neil Lennon and Rafael Benitez are all 6/1 to be next to manage the Foxes, with Sean Dyche (7/1) and Roberto Martinez (8/1) completing the main contenders.

Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “We made Rodgers the favourite straight away and today has only seem him strengthen in that position in the betting. The former Liverpool man is now into just 5/4 to be the next Leicester manager and punters have been very keen to back him to take over.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the odds-on favourite, at 1/3, to be in charge of Manchester United for the first game of next season.

“It was another feather in the cap for Ole yesterday as his Manchester United team kept Liverpool at bay and the betting suggests he already has one foot in the dugout for the start of next season,” added Aitkenhead.

**To be next Leicester manager

5/4 Brendan Rodgers, 6/1 Neil Lennon, 6/1 Rafa Benitez, 6/1 David Wagner, 7/1 Sean Dyche, 8/1 Roberto Martinez, 10/1 Michael Appleton, 16/1 David Moyes, 16/1 Daniel Farke, 16/1 Nigel Pearson, 20/1 Sam Allardyce

**To be Manchester United manager on the first day of next season

1/3 Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, 10/3 Mauricio Pochettino, 9/1 Zinedine Zidane, 14/1 Gareth Southgate, 14/1 Massimiliano Allegri, 20/1 Antonio Conte, 20/1 Diego Simeone, 20/1 Laurent Blanc, 25/1 Eddie Howe, 25/1 Lucien Favre
