Will Andy Murray sign off with a Wimbledon win?
We’ve priced up his chances at SW19
Andy Murray is 7/1 to end his career with a Wimbledon triumph this summer, according to our latest odds.
After announcing his plan to retire later this year, Murray is fourth-favourite to win at the All England Tennis Club behind the usual suspects.
Novak Djokovic (9/4) leads the way, with Roger Federer (10/3) and Rafa Nadal (5/1) chasing.
Before that, Murray is 33/1 to win the Australian Open for the first time later this month.
Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “Andy Murray is going to try and make one last Wimbledon and he’s a 7/1 shot in our book to finish his stellar career with a fairytale win this summer.
“It would need a return to fitness and form but he’s been there and done it before. You just can’t rule out one last hurrah on a court that has given Murray and the British public some fantastic memories in the last decade.”
The 31-year-old has won fans on and off the court and he’s also 12/1 to be crowned BBC Sports Personality of the Year at the end of 2019.
“If Murray can roll back the years this summer he’ll be a leading contender for the award, and at 12/1 it shows that any success on the court will leave him as one of the favourites to scoop a fourth SPOTY gong,” added Aitkenhead.
