Odds and previews for the mid-week Premier League fixtures

After a weekend of FA Cup fixtures, the Premier League returns tonight with six fixtures to feast your eyes on.

Three of the top six feature tonight, with Manchester City looking to close the gap and heap more pressure on Liverpool. Manchester United will be looking to extend their winning run, with Arsenal attempting to bounce back from their FA Cup defeat Friday night.

Here are all the key odds and info for tonight’s games…

Newcastle United v Manchester City

In the televised game tonight, the Toon Army play the Cityzens at St. James’ Park. It kicks off on BT Sport 1 at 8pm.

Newcastle will be looking to bounce back from a 3-0 home defeat against Watford in the cup, with City looking to press on and continue to score for fun after beating Burnley 5-0 on Saturday.

Magpies boss Rafa Benitez fielded a weakened side on Saturday, with Premier League survival prioritised. They’re without Joselu, Mohamed Diame, Jonjo Shelvey and Ki Sung-yeung for tonight’s game, but Benitez is likely to make massive changes.

City will be without club captain Vincent Kompany, and are still monitoring the fitness of Benjamin Mendy after a return from injury. It’s not likely that he’ll be risked tonight.

The Sky Blues are hot favourites to win at 1/5, with Newcastle quite a way out at 16/1.

City have won their last six games in all competitions to Nil, and they’re 17/20 to keep another clean sheet.

Arsenal v Cardiff City

After a 3-1 defeat to Manchester United in the cup, Arsenal will want to bounce back quickly so they can keep pushing for a top-four place.

The Gunners’ injury crisis deepened at the Emirates on Friday night, losing centre-back duo Sokratis and Laurent Koscielny.

Cardiff City didn’t have a cup fixture over the weekend, but will be looking to maintain their stubborn fight against relegation after being written off by most before the start of the season. They sit in 18th place currently, but will look to spring a surprise at the Emirates.

The Bluebirds are still without captain Sean Morrison who is recovering from an appendicitis operation.

The Gunners are heavily backed to win at 2/9 and Neil Warnock’s side aren’t fancied out at 12/1, but they could settle for a draw away from home against a top six side to keep the points tally rolling. A draw is priced at 11/2.

In the reverse tie at the Cardiff City Stadium, Arsenal edged the contest with a 3-2 win. A repeat of this scoreline is 25/1.

Both of Arsenal’s front-men scored on that day, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is fancied to score anytime at 4/6, with partner Alexandre Lacazette 5/6 to net too.

Manchester United v Burnley

Manchester United have returned to form under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, winning their last eight on the spin in all competitions. Burnley face their second game in Manchester in a week, and had been on their best run of the season before a 5-0 thumping from City.

The Red Devils will only be without Marcos Rojo and Marouane Fellaini, with goalkeeper David de Gea returning to the starting XI after being rested against Arsenal.

The Clarets saw Robbie Brady limp off against City on Saturday, so he’s been added to the doubtful list, with Johann Berg Gudmundsson and Phil Bardsley facing tests to see whether they can return.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche rested most of his first-team players against City on Saturday, prioritising their Premier League survival fight. This game should see the first XI return.

United won 2-0 at Turf Moor earlier in the season despite a Marcus Rashford red card, and they’re favourites to win again at 2/7. Lukaku bagged twice that day, and despite falling out of favour in recent weeks, he’s 5/2 to score two or more again.

Burnley aren’t fancied for the win at 11/1, but they will be looking to get at least a point from the game. The draw is priced at 19/4, but a Burnley/Draw Double Chance sits at 29/10.

Best of the rest

Wolverhampton Wanderers host West Ham United, with both coming off the back of shock results in the cup. Wolves battled back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 away at Shrewsbury, while West Ham lost 4-2 at AFC Wimbledon.

Wolves are favourites to win and push on in the league at 21/20, and after a hat-trick in his last Premier League game, Diogo Jota is 4/1 to open the scoring or 6/4 to score anytime.

The Hammers sit further out at 27/10 for the win, but after managing to keep hold of their talisman Marko Arnautovic, they’ll be looking to press on too. Arnautovic is 9/5 to score anytime.

Strugglers Fulham are battling against Brighton & Hove Albion this evening. The Seagulls will be boosted by an early return from the Asian Cup for goalkeeper Mat Ryan, and have no other injury worries.

The Cottagers will be without striker Aboubakar Kamara as he remains under investigation following a training ground incident, and will still be without Zambo Anguissa despite a return to training.

Fulham are slight favourites to get the result at 11/8, but Brighton aren’t sat too far back at 9/4.

In the earlier fixture, they played out a 2-2 draw, and a draw of any kind is priced at 11/5.

The leagues bottom side Huddersfield Town host Everton, with the Terriers new manager Jan Siewert looking to hit the ground running and pick up points to charge towards Premier League safety.

Huddersfield could be boosted by the return of star midfielder Aaron Mooy after seven weeks without him, but the game is a stretch too far for Philip Billing and Danny Williams.

The Toffees will be without Phil Jagielka and Yerry Mina through injury, but Idrissa Gueye is expected to feature despite being the subject of a bid from French champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Everton are favourites to pick up three points at 11/10, with the Terriers further back at 29/10.

The earlier fixture finished in a 1-1 draw. A draw of any kind is priced at 9/4, with a repeat of the 1-1 scoreline at 5/1.
