Latest betting news for the Long Walk Hurdle

Call Me Lord heads Unowhatimeanharry in the ante-post betting for Saturday’s Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot.

Nicky Henderson’s charge will be making his seasonal reappearance at the Berkshire course after ending last season with a commanding victory in the Select Hurdle at Sandown. The Coral traders expect him to come on from that and have made him the 2/1 favourite as a result.

Surprise Long Distance Hurdle winner Unowhatimeanharry is next best at 3/1, with Nick Williams’ Agrapart following at 6/1. Any significant rainfall could see that price drop further given the raider’s recent form on heavy ground.

Momella, Paisley Park and Sam Spinner are one of a number of hopefuls given a sub-10/1 quote in what looks set to be a tip-top renewal of the 3½m  Grade 1 contest.

“Such was the impression Call Me Lord made when winning at Sandown on his last run back in April, we make him clear favourite for Saturday’s Grade One despite that absence from action,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
