Preview and odds for today’s matches

The Tennis continues in London today with the second round of matches in the Guga Kuerten group.

Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev won their opening group matches on Monday, beating John Isner and Marin Cilic respectively.

But now the two winners meet this afternoon, before Isner and Cilic look to collect their first win in the evening game. Here’s your one-stop guide to today’s contests…

Novak Djokovic v Alexander Zverev

Top seed and the tournament favourite, Djokovic was comfortable in a 6-4 6-3 win over Isner on Monday.

He had no problem with the big American’s famed serve, and he’ll be plenty confident as 1/6 favourite to defeat Zverev today.

The young German is a 4/1 shot, and has beaten the Serbian before – at last year’s Rome Open.

But that was on clay. Djokovic got his own back earlier this year with a thumping 6-2 6-1 hard court win in Shanghai. The world number one is 4/7 to again prevail in straight sets, while there’s 8/13 about under 22.5 games.

Marin Cilic v John Isner

The evening’s entertainment should be a hard-hitting and ace-laden affair as 6ft 6in Cilic takes on 6ft 10in Isner.

Both players need to win this one, otherwise their chances of progression hand by a thread.

Cilic, who holds a 7-3 head-to-head advantage, is 8/15 favourite but Isner has won three of the last four meetings.

The American is 6/4 to make that four wins in five, while 6/5 says we see three sets tonight.

Eight of their 10 meetings have required at least one tie-break, and that’s likely to be the theme again this evening. There’s 10/11 apiece on the first or second sets requiring a tie-break, and 4/5 on over 25.5 games.
