Odds and mini-previews for today’s tennis action
The ATP Finals continue apace at London’s O2 Arena today, with another pair of intriguing singles clashes on the agenda.
We take a look at both of the day’s clashes, kicking off with the early-afternoon match as Kei Nishikori looks to recover from his humbling loss to Kevin Anderson.
Dominic Thiem v Kei Nishikori
This pair have met twice in 2018, with a French Open win for Thiem – who eventually reached the final – followed by a victory in Vienna for Nishikori.
The Japanese player was humbled earlier this week by Kevin Anderson, suffering a 6-0, 6-1 mauling. He might find that tough to recover from. Thiem could bag victory at 6/4, while a 2-1 victory in sets for the Austrian is 7/2.
Nishikori saw just 13 total games in his defeat to Anderson, while Thiem’s last clash (against Roger Federer) produced a few more at 17. It’s 4/5 for Under 22.5 Games in today’s clash.
Roger Federer v Kevin Anderson
Fed has won four of the pair’s five previous meetings – including all three on hard court. Factor in that each was wrapped up in straight sets, and he should prove too strong for the South African again.
In the Match Betting, it’s 4/9 for a Federer win. Meanwhile, another 2-0 victory in sets is a 6/5 shot.
The pair’s last meeting on hard court saw a 6-1, 6-1 triumph for the Swiss veteran. There’s a chunky 33/1 on Federer to win the first set 6-1 once again.
