Tips and odds for this weekend’s Italian fixtures

The final international break of 2018 is on the way, but there’s still time for another hectic round of Serie A fixtures this weekend.

Juventus are six points clear of Inter Milan and Napoli at the top, but the Old Lady are licking their wounds after a 2-1 loss to Manchester United in the Champions League.

Can they bounce back away at AC Milan? Our weekend preview starts at the San Siro…

AC Milan v Juventus

Milan are improving under Gennaro Gattuso. They’ve lost only twice in the league this season, narrowly going down to Napoli and in the Milan derby.

But in recent years they’ve offered little versus Juve. The Turin side have won 13 of the last 15 meetings.

Max Allegri’s men are 5/6 to down his former side, with Gattuso’s Milan 10/3 underdogs.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a stunner versus Man United in midweek, and is 10/3 favourite to open the scoring with his eighth Serie A goal of the campaign.

Milan’s Gonzalo Higuain has been battling a back injury this week, but should be fit in time to face his parent club. The Argentine is 11/2 to score first.

Sassuolo v Lazio

Everyone’s favourite Italian minnows Sassuolo will be hoping to continue their good form at home to Lazio.

It’s sixth hosting fifth, with both sides keeping the pressure on fourth place Milan and that final Champions League spot.

Lazio have won the last four meetings, and Simone Inzaghi’s men are Evens favourites for three points. The hosts are 13/5, as is a draw.

Ciro Immobile has already fired in eight league goals this season, and is 13/5 favourite to open the scoring.

Best of the rest

With six league wins on the spin, Inter Milan are Serie A’s form side right now. Luciano Spalletti’s men have won four of their five away games, and are 6/4 to win away at Atalanta.

Mauro Icardi has scored three goals in his last three games, including versus Barcelona in midweek, and is 9/2 favourite to break the deadlock.

Having pushed Juventus so hard in recent times, Roma have lost their way of late. The capital club sit only ninth ahead of this weekend’s fixtures, 15 points off the pace.

They’re 1/2 to win at home to Sampdoria. The visitors are out at 11/2, and lost 10 of their last 17 away league games.

Samp have conceded seven in their last two matches, and there’s 11/4 about Edin Dzeko helping himself to a brace or better on Sunday.
