Juventus v Man United betting tips: Will Old Lady edge it again?
Odds and preview of crunch CL game
Juventus and Manchester United face off again in Champions League Group H tonight, following the Old Lady’s 1-0 triumph at Old Trafford.
Victory for Juve here would secure they qualify as group winners, whilst United are locked in a battle for second spot.
The reverse fixture marked the 13th time these clubs have met, and gave Juventus a sixth head-to-head win. United have managed five to date.
The pair have had some gigantic clashes. The most memorable came in United’s treble-winning season of 1998-99. The Red Devils recovered from 3-1 down on aggregate in the pair’s Champions League semi-final, before edging it 4-3.
Jose Mourinho appears to have scrapped his defensive trio experiment after resounding losses to Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United. So it’s likely to be four at the back.
Further forward, Anthony Martial has surely earned his place after a string of impressive recent displays. He could be part of an advanced midfield trio, sitting behind Romelu Lukaku.
Juve have been excellent so far this term, so there’s little chance Max Allegri will tinker with their 4-3-3 system. At centre-back, they retain the rock-solid pairing of Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci.
Juve’s biggest test will be stopping the Red Devils out wide. While Lukaku has been underwhelming of late, both Marcus Rashford and Martial have cut inside to deadly effect in recent weeks. Alex Sandro and Joao Cancelo have their work cut out.
The midfield battle will be an intriguing one. Juve dominated possession in the last meeting, and the likes of Miralem Pjanic and Blaise Matuidi in their holding midfield trio could hold the key to victory again.
Juventus have won an astonishing 17 of their last 19 matches ahead of this clash. They’re firm favourites in the Match Betting at odds of 8/13. Meanwhile, it’s 14/5 for the Draw and 5/1 for a United victory.
Four of the Turin club’s last six home games have seen both sides find the net, as have seven of United’s previous nine fixtures.
It’s Evens for Both Teams to Score tonight, while a Juve Win and BTTS is 14/5.
Paulo Dybala netted in the reverse fixture, and also broke the deadlock in Saturday’s win over Cagliari. He’s 7/5 Anytime, and 4/1 to be First Goalscorer for the third time in four games.
He’s second in the Anytime Goalscorer market, behind former Red Devils favourite Cristiano Ronaldo at 23/20.
Martial is United’s man in form right now. And the odds make the France international 7/2 to register in Turin.
