Plus odds for the Ladbrokes Cox Plate and Melbourne Cup
The Aidan O’Brien-trained Magna Grecia is 7/4 (from 5/2) favourite for Saturday’s Vertem Futurity Trophy, following further support for the colt today.
Turgenev is the 4/1 second favourite for the season’s final Group 1, ahead of Phoenix Of Spain at 5/1.
Coral’s David Stevens said: “Magna Grecia was our 7/2 favourite when we opened betting on the Vertem Futurity on Monday.
“But with Aidan O’Brien confirming the colt would be spearheading his attempt to win the season’s final Group 1 for a ninth time, punters have forced his odds down to 5/2 and then again to his current price,” added Stevens.
