Invincibles? Meet the European heavyweights who could go unbeaten

Juve amongst sides with a 100% league record

Dominance is the order of the day in a number of top European leagues this season. Each of Serie A, Eredivisie and Ligue 1 have a table-topping team who’ve won every game to date.

Meanwhile, the Premier League has three unbeaten sides after the opening eight games.

We take a look at the sides yet to lose and ask who – if any of them – will end the league campaign as Invincibles…

Juventus (W8, D0, L0: 24 points)

Juve were expected to dominate once again in Serie A following the summer acquisition of Cristiano Ronaldo. But they’ve been even more ruthless than most expected.

Max Allegri’s rock-solid side have conceded just once in six games across all competitions, with Napoli the only opposing side to net – en route to a 3-1 Juve win.

They needed a 93rd minute Fernando Bernadeschi goal to beat Chievo 3-2 on the opening weekend. But since then most of Juve’s wins have come by a comfortable margin of two or more goals.

The next few games look easy on paper, but a big test arrives in the first half of November with a trip to AC Milan.

PSV Eindhoven (W8, D0, L0: 24 points)

Even Juve haven’t dominated their division in quite the manner PSV have this season. Mark van Bommel’s side have scored 30 goals in the league (or 3.75 per game) and conceded just three times.

They’ve stuck with a 4-3-3 system throughout the campaign, and it seems to be an unstoppable formula – at least domestically.

Hirving Lozano, Luuk de Jong and Gaston Pereiro have bagged a combined 18 league goals across those games – including six in the 7-0 rout at ADO Den Haag.

Having already seen off closest challengers Ajax with a 3-0 win, it’s easy to imagine PSV going the whole league season without a loss.

Paris Saint-Germain (W9, D0, L0: 27 points)

PSG made it through the first 15 games of Ligue 1 last term without losing, before a shock defeat to a Strasbourg side who barely avoided relegation in the end.

Whilst another slip-up of that nature is possible, they’ve been pretty clinical so far this term. Olympique Lyon were one of just three sides to beat them in the league in 2017-18, but they were mauled 5-0 at Parc des Princes last term.

The duo of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar are on fire, with both men already onto double figures in all competitions. But they’ll have to keep it up as the fixtures intensify – with PSG facing Marseille, Lille and Monaco before the month ends.

Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool (All – W6, D2, L0: 20 points)

It seemed like something had to give earlier this month, when Liverpool faced Manchester City – but both retained their unbeaten status after a surprisingly dull 0-0 draw.

The Reds have come closest of the trio to losing their unbeaten status, needing an 89th minute wondergoal from Daniel Sturridge to rescue a point at Stamford Bridge.

The Citizens have trailed for just 12 minutes of Prem football this term, away at Wolverhampton Wanderers. And Pep Guardiola’s men have netted a hefty 13 goals in four home games.

Chelsea had early-season scares against Arsenal and Cardiff City, but head into Saturday’s home clash with Manchester United off the back of a 3-0 win at St Mary’s.

To go unbeaten in Premier League this season – Man City @ 12/1 | Liverpool @ 20/1 | Chelsea @ 50/1
