Odds, tips and preview for today’s racing

An exciting afternoon of racing on ITV centres on next year’s Classic propositions and the huge Cambridgeshire Handicap at Newmarket.

Pretty Pollyanna, Signora Cabello and Ten Sovereigns are the pick of the two-year-olds on show. Alfarris, Kynren and Wissahickon are all vying for favouritism in the Cambridgeshire.

The Coral News Team have picks for all of the Newmarket action, plus two races from Haydock, with their ITV Racing Tips.

Pretty Pollyanna – 2:25 Newmarket

Excitement abounds over the fillies’ two-year-old division. Pretty Pollyanna is one of the main reasons why. Michael Bell’s star swept home at odds of 20/1 to claim a wide-margin win in the Duchess of Cambridge Stakes in July. She followed that up with another gutsy display to see off main rival Signora Cabello in the Prix Morny last time out.

That run silenced any remaining doubters of the Oasis Dream filly. Now she’s taken to confirm that quality again back at Newmarket against rivals who have plenty more to prove than her.

Arthur Kitt – 1:50 Newmarket

With Ten Sovereigns chalked up as the heavy favourite in the Middle Park Stakes, the Royal Lodge Stakes could make for a better betting proposition. Arthur Kitt is among the favourites for the 1m contest – and with good reason.

Tom Dascombe’s charge was second only to the hugely impressive Too Darn Hart in the Solario Stakes earlier this month, beating third-place Confiding by 3l. He’s a big player on that run and his Listed success in the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot. The extra 1f should also help as the son of Camelot bids for a first success in Group company.

Via Serendipity – 3:40 Newmarket

With 35 runners to choose from in the Cambridgeshire, any winner is going to need a bit of luck along the way. But Via Serendipity looks an enticing prospect at a nice price. Stuart Williams’ hopeful is consistent as they come. He hasn’t finished outside of the first five in a campaign which has included fifth and fourth place runs in 27-runners handicaps.

A high draw will help his cause, as should the booking of the experienced Gerald Mosse. Victory may be beyond the pair with a career-best effort required and 2lb extra from the handicapper, but there’s enough evidence to suggest our pick can challenge on each-way terms.

2:25 Newmarket – Pretty Pollyanna

3:00 Newmarket – Ten Sovereigns
