Tips and preview on the weekend action

There’s a full house of Premier League games this weekend, with Chelsea and Liverpool looking to preserve their 100% records at the league’s summit.

Ahead of the action, the Coral News Team look at the big talking points around five of the weekend’s clashes…

Can improved United defence keep Wolves quiet?

After a 3-0 home humbling by Tottenham Hotspur last month, many were predicting a gloomy campaign for Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United.

To their credit, United followed that drubbing with a trio of impressive away wins – at Burnley, Watford and Young Boys. Tuesday’s 3-0 win against the Swiss side made United the first side to keep a clean sheet against them in 40 games.

And the Portuguese gaffer appears to have struck on a winning centre-back partnership with Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof.

The pair do face a Wolverhampton Wanderers side who’ve scored in four on the trot, but it’s 31/20 for United to Win to Nil on Saturday.

Will Brighton put another dent in Spurs’ season?

Following their win at Old Trafford, it’s been all downhill for Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks. Spurs have lost three on the trot in all competitions, including a dramatic late defeat at Inter Milan in midweek.

Saturday sees them visit a Brighton & Hove Albion side who’ve taken a huge 18 points from their last nine home games in the Premier League. With Glenn Murray in fine form for the Seagulls, this will be a real test of Spurs’ mettle.

The last meeting in Sussex ended 1-1, and Coral’s odds make it 18/5 for a Score Draw once again.

Gunners likely to edge an Emirates goalfest

Arsenal played out an entertaining 4-2 victory over Ukrainian side Vorskla Poltava in the Europa League last night, and a similar goalfest looks likely as they host Everton.

Previous matches between these sides have provided plenty of goalmouth action. Arsenal have won each of the last three, but haven’t kept a clean sheet in the process. Last season saw 5-1 and 5-2 victories for the North London club.

Coral go 19/10 for an Arsenal win and Over 3.5 Goals, while the hosts are 12/5 to Win Both Halves.

Can Wilf do the damage again for the Eagles?

There’s arguably no Premier League player more important to their side than Wilfried Zaha is to Crystal Palace.

The Ivorian international has scored three of Palace’s four Prem goals this season, including the decisive strike in last weekend’s backs-to-the-wall win at Huddersfield Town.

It’s likely to be another tight affair as they host a Newcastle United side who’ve lost their last three by the odd goal – but have faced Chelsea and Manchester City in the process. Zaha is 9/5 Anytime, while it’s 20/1 he nets in a 1-0 win over the Magpies.

Clarets have the chance to kick-start their season

After the high of a top-seven finish and European qualification last term, Burnley have fallen back to earth with a thump this season.

The Clarets are currently bottom of the Prem, with just a point to their name. But they face an AFC Bournemouth side against who Sean Dyche’s men have a good record.

Burnley have won five of the last nine head-to-heads, losing just twice. That included a 2-1 win at the Vitality Stadium last term. This could be the ideal chance for Dyche’s men to kick on, and it’s 15/8 for a home win at Turf Moor.
