Odds and tips on UEL opening night

The Europa League group stage kicks off tonight with a raft of top ties. Amongst them is Chelsea’s visit to PAOK. Keep your eyes out for a Big Match Breakdown on that clash.

But there’s plenty more top UEL action, including Unai Emery’s first European game as Arsenal boss and déjà-vu clash for Celtic.

Ahead of tonight’s big clashes, the Coral News Team have rounded up their top tips…

Arsenal v Vorskla Poltava

The Gunners made it three wins on the trot with Saturday’s victory at Newcastle United. And they should sail past Ukrainian minnows Vorskla at the Emirates Stadium.

A simple win for Arsenal is a 1/9 shot. The North London club are yet to keep a clean sheet this season, and a Gunners victory with Both Teams to Score is 11/5.

Alexandre Lacazette bagged three goals in four UEL outings last term, and is 14/5 to be First Goalscorer in this clash.

If he has his shooting boots on, the Gunners could breeze to an easy win. The Arsenal -2 handicap is available at odds of 19/20.

Olympiakos v Real Betis

Any fixture involving Betis last term virtually guaranteed goalmouth action. Their 38 La Liga games threw up 121 goals (or 3.18 per game).

Chances are they’ll find the net in Greece. But getting a result against an Olympiakos side eyeing up an eighth successive home win is another matter.

The hosts are 5/4 for victory. Meanwhile, there could be interest in the #YourCall pick of 7/1 for Olympiakos to Win, Over 3.5 Goals and Both Teams to Score.

Kostas Fortounis is in good form of late. He’s scored three in seven for club and country and is the home side’s regular penalty taker. Fortounis to Score Anytime is priced up at 9/4.

Celtic v Rosenborg

The Hoops have already knocked Trollongan out of the Champions League this season, and should be too good for them again.

A simple win for Brendan Rodgers’ men is a 1/2 shot. Meanwhile, the Hoops -1 handicap is 27/20.

The pair’s last clash at Parkhead ended in a 3-1 Celtic win. It’s 11/1 for a repeat scoreline, while the odds make it 27/20 for the Hoops to Score in Both Halves.

Olympique Marseille v Eintracht Frankfurt

Both of these sides have plenty of European pedigree. Frankfurt were winners of the old UEFA Cup, while Marseille lifted the Champions League in 1993. But this is the first ever clash between the pair.

The visitors are struggling at present. Turfed out of the DFB-Pokal by fourth-tier Ulm, they’ve lost four of five in all competitions this term.

L’OM are top-notch at home, with a draw sandwiched between a pair of 4-0 wins so far this season. Marseille to Win Both Halves is 7/2, while the odds make it 12/1 for a 3-0 home triumph.

Florian Thauvin is in fine form, following five goals in as many games. He’s 11/10 to notch anytime, while the former Newcastle United man is 10/3 to Score Two or More Goals.
