Southgate’s men take on Spain on Saturday

Coral makes England 10/1 to win the UEFA Nations league, which kicks off today, following their first World Cup semi-final appearance this summer in 28 years.

The Three Lions are behind only France, Spain (4/1 joint favourites), Germany and Belgium (both 5/1) in the betting.

Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “Our odds reflect the feel good factor from England’s summer carrying over into the new Nations League, and they’ve definitely got a chance of making some waves in the debut tournament.

Much will depend on their clash with Spain, who are narrow favourites to win England’s group, on Saturday night and Southgate will be hoping a fast start can make the difference.”

Spain are 4/5 to win Group 4, with England 9/4 and given shorter odds than their semi-final conquerors Croatia who are 10/3.

Coral make England and Spain both 8/5 to win Saturday’s clash at Wembley, with the draw 19/10.

“We think Saturday’s clash will be a very closely fought affair and punters are torn with where to put their cash at the moment.

“A patriotic plunge could make England favourites come kick-off, whilst we have had a few requests for Jordan Pickford to save a penalty which is priced at 25/1 and has attracted bets,” added Aitkenhead.
