Preview, odds and tips for Prem clash

Liverpool travel to Wembley to take on Spurs in the lunchtime kick-off today.

Jurgen Klopp’s men are hoping to open up a gap at the top of the table before the rest of their rivals play later in the weekend.

Spurs will be keen to bounce back from their loss to Watford with a statement win over the Reds.

You can catch the action live on Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Main Event at 12:30pm. And the Coral News Team have all the pre-match tips and info…

Head-to-Head

Spurs brushed Liverpool aside in the reverse fixture last season. Son Heung-Min and Dele Alli goals were sandwiched between a Harry Kane double as Tottenham won 4-1.

Anfield played host to a 2-2 draw in February. Mo Salah looked to have won the game with a sensational solo goal before Kane struck a late, late penalty to salvage a point.

That game has been part of four draws in the last seven matches dating back to October 2015.

Likely XIs

Tottenham vs Liverpool - Football tactics and formations
Son could return to the Tottenham squad after his Asian Games heroics with South Korea earlier this month. This will be good news for Spurs fans with Alli injured.

Toby Alderweireld appears to be back in favour with Mauricio Pochettino and could start, despite playing 90 minutes for Belgium on Tuesday.

Lucas Moura could continue up front alongside Kane.

Liverpool’s Brazilian trio of Alisson, Roberto Firmino and Fabinho were all rested against El Salvador and Mo Salah didn’t play in midweek either.

Key Battles

You can’t look past Liverpool’s deadly forward-line here. The incisiveness, pace and link-up of Firmino, Salah and Sadio Mane has every team in Europe running scared.

Mane has been in fine form this campaign grabbing four league goals in four games.

The trio will most likely be marshalled by the defensive trident of Alderweireld, Vertonghen and Davinson Sanchez.

The midfield will also be crucial. Moussa Dembele will hope to get back to his best after a below par performance against Watford.

Liverpool have a wealth of options and could go with either James Milner or give Fabinho his first start of the season alongside Naby Keita.

Match Odds

Tottenham are 19/10 to come up with a similar performance in this game last season and take the win.

Liverpool grew stronger after that defeat and are 13/10 for victory. It’s 5/2 for the draw.

There’s only been two 0-0 draws in the past fourteen games between the sides. Over 3.5 goals is at 8/5.

Mane to continue his hot streak and Liverpool to win is 10/1.

Lucas Moura to score first is 15/2.
