Spurs brushed Liverpool aside in the reverse fixture last season. Son Heung-Min and Dele Alli goals were sandwiched between a Harry Kane double as Tottenham won 4-1.

Son could return to the Tottenham squad after his Asian Games heroics with South Korea earlier this month. This will be good news for Spurs fans with Alli injured.

Toby Alderweireld appears to be back in favour with Mauricio Pochettino and could start, despite playing 90 minutes for Belgium on Tuesday.

Lucas Moura could continue up front alongside Kane.

Liverpool’s Brazilian trio of Alisson, Roberto Firmino and Fabinho were all rested against El Salvador and Mo Salah didn’t play in midweek either.

You can’t look past Liverpool’s deadly forward-line here. The incisiveness, pace and link-up of Firmino, Salah and Sadio Mane has every team in Europe running scared.

Mane has been in fine form this campaign grabbing four league goals in four games.

The trio will most likely be marshalled by the defensive trident of Alderweireld, Vertonghen and Davinson Sanchez.

The midfield will also be crucial. Moussa Dembele will hope to get back to his best after a below par performance against Watford.

Liverpool have a wealth of options and could go with either James Milner or give Fabinho his first start of the season alongside Naby Keita.
