Betting preview for matchweek three in Serie A

It’s the final weekend of action in Serie A before the international break and there’s no shortage of mouth-watering ties to whet the appetite up and down the league.

Things get underway with a titanic clash between AC Milan and AS Roma at the San Siro on Friday night. Then Parma v Juventus takes centre stage on Saturday evening.

The Coral News Team has taken a closer look at those two ties, alongside an odds guide to the remainder of the weekend’s action in the Italian top-flight.

AC Milan v AS Roma (7:30pm, Friday)

Two of the division’s big hitters clash in the opening game of the weekend, as AC Milan bid for their first win of the season at home to unbeaten AS Roma.

I Rossoneri should have opened their account away at Napoli last weekend. But Gennaro Gattuso’s men relinquished a two-goal lead in Naples to lose 3-2. Roma, on the other hand, came from 3-1 down to snatch a 3-3 draw at home to Atalanta.

The hosts are 27/20 to put things right here, with 12/5 about the draw and 9/5 for a Roma victory.

Both sides like to play slick passing football, with an emphasis on attacking play. That often leaves the defences exposed, as shown last week. It’s 8/13 for Both Teams to Score.

Gonzalo Higuain has only ever scored twice against in Serie A against I Giallorossi . He’s 7/5 to put things right and Score Anytime here. Counterpart Edin Dzeko is 6/4 Anytime.

Parma v Juventus (7:30pm, Saturday)

After labouring to a 3-2 win over Chievo on the opening day, it was business as usual for Juventus last week with a 2-0 success against Lazio. Old foes Parma are up next on Saturday evening. They’re 2/11 to see off the Serie A newbies, with 20/1 about what would be a surprise home success.

Juve fans will be hoping Cristiano Ronaldo can finally open his account after two barren games. The Portuguese ace has yet to find the back of the net for his new employers since a summer move from Real Madrid. He’s 15/8 to Score 2 or More against Parma on Saturday.

Best of the rest

Napoli’s trip to Sampdoria is the highlight of the remaining games. The visitors are 8/15 to retain their winning start to the season. Carlo Ancelotti’s side are the division’s early pace-setters, alongside surprise package SPAL.

The Serie A minnows have seen off Parma and Bologna with a pair of 1-0 successes. They’re 9/2 to make it three wins in three or 12/1 to chalk up a hat-trick of goal to nil victories.

Elsewhere, Inter Milan will be looking to open their account in the win column away at Bologna. Luciano Spalletti’s side are 4/7 for all three points at 5pm on Saturday. Meanwhile, Lazio are the heavy 1/5 favourites at home to Frosinone, while Fiorentina are taken to see off Udinese at 4/7.
