Everton leading race to sign Arsenal’s Danny Welbeck
Welbeck could be surplus to requirements in North London
Everton are in pole position to sign Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck before Thursday’s transfer deadline, according to Coral’s traders.
Welbeck is behind Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette in the pecking order at the Emirates. The Gunners are reportedly ready to let him move on this summer.
Everton are at the front of the queue as 3/1 favourites, slightly ahead of Newcastle United (9/2).
Fulham, West Ham United, Southampton, Crystal Palace and Watford are all 6/1 or longer to sign the former Manchester United man.
“It looks like the end of the road for Danny Welbeck at Arsenal, with the Gunners appearing open to selling him this summer. A move to Goodison Park is our favourite in the betting for his next destination, and he could be the latest attacking addition to the squad for the Toffees,” said Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead.
