Crowley calls it: “I’m really looking forward to riding Elwazir.”
Champion jockey previews his weekend rides
Saturday – Haydock
He is a nice horse and Charlie Hills is happy. Up until Goodwood, they weren’t in that great of form but they’re starting to bounce back now.
He will have to step up from what he did last time but I imagine he will have an each-way chance.
She is a really nice filly for Chapple-Hyam. She won her first start for him and she was previously with Jeremy Noseda. She is by Frankel so a very expensive filly and beautifully bred.
She won very convincingly last time at Chelmsford. She will have a great chance, with the horse of Ed Walker’s to beat. Chapple-Hyam is a great trainer and with a pedigree like hers, you would expect her to progress well.
I am really looking forward to riding him – he is my stand out horse of the day.I have loved him from day one. His form is rock solid.
When I won on him at Sandown, he beat Cross Counter that day and I think he is very much a group horse. He won well under Frankie at Ascot last time and I can’t wait to ride him now.
He is another horse by Frankel, with a lovely pedigree. I am looking forward to this one and think he will take all the beating.
I ride him for a friend of mine, David O’Meara.I have known David a long time; We were jump jockeys together and he is doing unbelievably well as a trainer.
I am on his second string here, with Danny Tudhope riding the first. He’s got good form and was second last time out. He would have an each-way squeak.
He won on his penultimate start. I haven’t ridden this horse before so I don’t know too much about him. I do know he has won over course and distance on soft ground in June. He’s off a lower mark here and on his form, I think he’d have a chance.
Again, I haven’t ridden this horse before. There are bits and bobs of form there but will need to step up again on what he has done so far. He hasn’t won a race yet, but he has been placed a couple of times. He needs to step up.
Sunday – Leicester
Tafawoq – 2pm
This is one of Hamdan Al Maktoum’s,. I don’t know too much about him. I do know he is well bred but as I haven’t ridden him before, we will have to wait and see.
Mosharakka – 2.45
I ride this for Charlie Hills. He won on his penultimate start at Chepstow. He was third last time out behind Blistering Bob. Charlie’s horses are in good form and I think he has a chance.
