Champions League play-off tips: Ajax and AEK looking likely
Odds and previews of the three UCL games
It’s crunch time in the Champions League play-off round as the sides vying for the Group Stage clash in the second legs.
Ajax and AEK Athens are in a strong position, while it’s all-square between Dinamo Zagreb and BSC Young Boys.
The Coral News Team have mini-previews and tips for each of the three games…
AEK Athens v MOL Vidi
After losing the first leg at home, MOL have it all to do in Greece tonight. And if AEK’s win over Celtic in Athens was an indicator, they could be in big trouble.
Basically, the Hungarian outfit have a free hit at AEK. But the Greek champions are unbeaten in their last 13 European games. And they comfortably dispatched the Hoops on home soil in the previous round.
AEK are 4/7 to win. MOL will have to go for it. And they might score, but AEK will be hugely dangerous on the counter. The Athens outfit are 16/5 to win with Both Teams To Score.
Dynamo Kyiv v Ajax
Ajax are in a very commanding position as they take on Dynamo Kyiv 3-1 up from their home leg. And although Dynamo have an away goal, they have never progressed in European competition after losing the away leg by two goals.
Ajax are 29/20 to win. However, the Dutch giants haven’t won a final-stage UCL qualifier away leg since 2001. And the last time they played Dynamo in Kiev, it finished 1-1 back in 2010.
The Draw is available at 12/5. And a repeat of that 1-1 Correct Score is 11/2. Dusan Tadic scored in the first leg, and managed a goal in the weekend win over Emmen. He’s 23/10 to find the net Anytime.
Dinamo Zagreb v Young Boys
It’s a battle of the unbeaten teams in Zagreb tonight with both Dinamo and Young Boys yet to lose this season.
Encouragingly for Dinamo, they have progressed in each of their previous five UCL play-off ties. And Young Boys have never made it to the UCL Group Stage proper.
The Swiss champions are a decent outfit. But they have a poor record in play-off qualifiers, winning just one of seven. And the Croatian champions have never lost to Swiss opposition in competitive games.
Dinamo are a 6/5 shot to win. You can get them at 9/4 to win with Over 2.5 Goals in the game.
