It’s Ladies semi-final day

After a stunning day of tennis on Wednesday in the men’s quarter-finals, Wimbledon now turns its attention to the Ladies’ semi-finals.

The ladies’ tournament has thrown up plenty of thrills and surprises, and there could be more to come this afternoon.

The Coral News Team have analysed both matches and served up top tips for each…

Jelena Ostapenko v Angelique Kerber – Over 2.5 sets @ 5/4

The first semi-final should be a fascinating encounter between 2016 French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko and two-time Slam champ Angelique Kerber.

This pair won three of 2016’s four Slams, but today they’ll meet for the first time.

Former world number one Kerber is the 8/13 favourite, but Ostapenko has been excellent at SW19. She’s dropped no sets to Kerber’s one, and produced two bagels.

This should go the distance, while Ostapenko to win 2-1 is 7/2.

Serena Williams to beat Julia Goerges 2-0 @ 4/5

With seeds falling left, right and centre, the path has opened up nicely for Serena Williams to reach yet another Wimbledon final.

She may be 36-years-old, and recovering from the birth of her daughter, but Serena has been imperious on the grass so far.

Camila Giorgi gave her a fright last time out, but Williams bounced back in remarkable style. She should have little bother against Julia Goerges.

The Belgian has lost both of her previous meetings with Serena, and could be flagging after needing numerous third sets and tie-breaks on her route to the semis.
