Odds and preview ahead of the big clash…

It’s an International Champions Cup clash of Premier League proportions as Liverpool and Manchester face off at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

The game kicks off in the early hours of tomorrow morning at 1:05am live on LFCTV. And we’ve got you covered for odds and tips in our Big Match Breakdown.

Head-To-Head

Liverpool and Man City have a chequered history of previous meetings. The Reds have 104 wins, to City’s 54. And there have been 52 draws.

But in recent clashes between the pair, Liverpool have gotten the upper hand. Jurgen Klopp’s outfit have won the last three games and five of the last seven.

That includes the two Champions League wins from last season as well as the 4-3 win at Anfield last January.

Likely XIs

What with both squads looking like on senior pros due to the World Cup, the line-ups could be a mystery here.

Pep Guardiola had 16 stars in Russia and had taken a shadow group of players on the tour. However, the likes of Riyad Mahrez and Leroy Sane should be included in the XI.

For Liverpool, Klopp welcomes back Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, and Marko Grujic. Joel Matip has been sent back home after suffering an injury in the previous game.

Key Battles

When it comes to games between Liverpool and City, it’s always about whether Guardiola’s side can beat Liverpool’s press. And they failed to do so for much of last season’s games.

The Reds swarmed all over City and Guardiola’s side just couldn’t get their passing game going. It’ll probably be much of the same here – even more so with most of the Citizen’s key players absent.

City’s young stars are well-drilled though, and much will depend on the likes of Phil Foden in midfield. If the starlet can get on the ball in Liverpool’s defensive third, he can cause damage.

Match Odds

Man City are significant underdogs at 13/5, with Liverpool available at 17/20. The Draw is available at 27/10.

With Liverpool further down the line in terms of fitness preparation – and being able to field a stronger XI – they should nick the win here.

Although, with it being a friendly, added to a history of goals in this fixture – expect both nets to ripple. Both Teams To Score is 1/2. Liverpool to win and Over 2.5 Goals is 23/20.

Mo Salah and Sadio Mane are likely to be involved at some point. Salah is 5/6 to find the net Anytime. But Mane is at 9/5 in the same market.
