Who are the favourites to win at Queen’s Club?

Andy Murray begins his comeback

It’s the traditional pre-Wimbledon warm-up, and this year’s Queen’s Club Championship again sees some of the SW19 fancies finessing their skills.

Always a popular event, this year’s renewal in Barons Court also sees the return of home favourite Andy Murray.

The Scot has been out for almost a year thanks to a hip problem which required surgery in January.

This is his first event back, and the Coral oddsmakers reckon it’s a bit too soon for the Scot at 18/1.

Somebody must win it, though. And the Coral News Team have analysed the favourites and the big names…

Novak Djokovic – 4/1

He’s a 12-time Slam champion, but like Murray, Novak Djokovic has endured a difficult few years.

However, the Serbian is showing signs of a revival with a quarter-final run in the French Open.

Was given a WIldcard entry for Queen’s but has lucked into the more favourite half of the draw.

Marin Cilic – 4/1

Murray and Djokovic’s continued problems mean that Cilic is the number one seed in West London.

The 29-year-old is enjoying a solid year. He reached the Australian Open and the last-eight of the French.

Cilic loves a good run at Queen’s too. He won the event in 2012, and was runner-up in 2013 and 2017.

Grigor Dimitrov – 15/2

Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov knows how to win at Queen’s too. He defeated Feliciano Lopez in the 2014 final.

That was also Dimitrov’s best year in Slams as he reached the quarters in Australia and the semis at Wimbledon.

But after a couple of years in the wilderness, the 27-year-old appears to be returning to his best. He faces a likely second round clash with Djokovic, however.

Milos Raonic – 8/1

Milos Raonic is in the top-half of the draw, which includes Cilic, Stan Wawrinka, Murray, Kyle Edmund and Lopez.

Injuries have hugely disrupted the Canadian in the past 12 months. He’s missed two of the last three Slam tournaments.

But he can beat anyone on his day, so he shouldn’t be discounted.

Stan Wawrinka – 12/1

As a three-time Slam champion during an era of Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Murray and Djokovic, Stan Wawrinka’s achievements shouldn’t be underestimated.

But the Swiss ace is 33-years-old now, and has endured a poor 2018 so far.

He is in that tough top half, and will need to recapture some old magic if he’s to progress much further.
