Kane second behind Joshua in the odds
The Sports Personality of the Year odds have shifted at Coral, following a stunning display from England striker Harry Kane in last night’s 2-1 defeat of Tunisia.
The Tottenham Hotspur hitman netted both goals for the Three Lions, and has seen his odds of SPOTY glory cut to 5/1, having previously been 10/1.
Boxing champ Anthony Joshua remains the favourite at 2/1, following his crowning as the WBO heavyweight champion.
The dark horses include Chris Froome at 12/1, while Lewis Hamilton and Lizzy Yarnold are 16/1 apiece, and it’s 20/1 for Andy Murray to win a fourth SPOTY title.
As for Kane and co., Coral now make England 10/1 to win the World Cup in Russia this summer.
Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “World Cup fever is well and truly gripping the nation now and with Harry being the hero last night we’ve been inundated with bets on him winning SPOTY this year. Should he continue his goalscoring streak and England progress deep into the tournament his odds will only continue to shorten.”
