Saxon Warrior 1/2 to land Irish Derby success

O’Brien’s charge odds-on for victory

Coral make Saxon Warrior the red-hot 1/2 favourite to add this weekend’s Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby to his victory in last month’s QIPCO 2,000 Guineas.

Dee Ex Bee, two places ahead of the favourite at Epsom earlier this month, is 4/1 second favourite.

And last week’s Royal Ascot winner, Old Persian, is the only other contender at single-figure odds, at 8/1.

“Although Saxon Warrior finished behind Dee Ex Bee in the Investec Derby, we very much favour the former to come out on top this weekend, with the Curragh expected to suit the Guineas winner much more than Epsom did,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
