Odds and tips for today’s World Cup action

The final round of World Cup group fixtures kick-off today, which will settle who goes through as winners and runners-up of Groups A and B.

Russia and Uruguay have already sewn up their places in the last-16. They face each other with top spot up for grabs. Egypt also take on Saudi Arabia, both hoping to avoid the embarrassment of finishing with zero points.

Over in Group G, Spain and Portugal are level on four points. Iran have three, while Morocco can count themselves unlucky to have failed to pick up any yet.

Spain will be pushing for a win against Morocco in Kaliningrad. Portugal face Iran, with a full preview of that game available right here.

For the rest of today’s fixtures, here are the Coral News Team’s top tips…

Group A

Uruguay v Russia

Russia have shocked everyone, including much of their own support, with their vibrant displays so far. They’ve made the best start of any nation in World Cup history so far.

This will be their biggest test yet. Russia are 7/4 to make it three wins out of three. Uruguay are narrowly behind at 9/5. The draw is 21/10.

No team has scored more goals than Stanislav Cherchesov’s side so far (8). Uruguay haven’t really clicked yet, but they have one of the best forward lines in the tournament. Draw and Both Sides to Score is 17/5.

With both sides going for the win, there are likely to be plenty of chances at the Samara Arena. It’s 27/20 that the game produces Over 2.5 Goals.

After emerging as a surprise contender for the Golden Boot, Denis Cheryshev is 3/1 to score anytime for the hosts.

Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani can’t be separated in the Goalscorer markets. Both are 7/2 to score first and 7/5 to score anytime. However, it’s worth bearing in mind that Cavani hasn’t got off the mark in Russia yet. He’ll be determined to put that right.

Saudi Arabia v Egypt

It’s been a tough few weeks for Mohamed Salah. Coming off one of the best seasons in Premier League history, injury prevented him from making an impact as Liverpool lost the Champions League final and Egypt have crashed out of the World Cup group stage.

There’s been talk of him considering his international future, but he’s set to be in the starting line-up here.

The 26-year-old should fire Egypt to a 17/20 consolation win. Saudi Arabia have looked very poor so far and are out at 19/5, with the draw a 13/5 shot.

The Saudis haven’t hit the back of the net yet. Egypt are 15/8 to Win to Nil. Don’t expect a goalfest though, Egypt only have one themselves. Under 1.5 Goals is 11/5, with Under 2.5 Goals at 3/4.

It’s hard to look beyond Salah for goals, even if he’s still not at 100%. He’s 14/5 to get the first goal, or 19/20 as an Anytime scorer.

Group B

Spain v Morocco

Morocco have been unlucky not to get anything from their two games so far. But it’s hard to see anything other than a 4/11 Spain win in this one. Morocco are 9/1 to get the points, while the draw is going for 4/1.

Spain haven’t looked watertight at the back though. Morocco could finally get on the scoresheet here. Spain and Both Teams to Score is 21/10.

Diego Costa already has three goals in Russia. The Atletico Madrid ace is 5/6 to add to his tally anytime. He’s also 14/5 to score first.

The North African side will be looking to Ayoub El Kaabi to get them off the mark. He’s a 14/5 shot to score. The talented Ajax winger Hakim Ziyech is also 4/1 to hit the back of the net.
