England international set for a move

Newcastle United have today emerged as one of the main contenders to sign Liverpool striker Danny Ings.

The 25-year-old has been beset with injury problems since switching to Anfield from Burnley in 2015 and now looks set to move away from Merseyside this summer.

His former employers are the favourites for his signature at 7/2 (out from 9/2), with Newcastle his next most likely destination at 5/1. They’re in from 8/1 to snap up the England international following a steady intake of bets throughout the day.

Fellow Premier League trio Crystal Palace (6/1), West Ham United (8/1) and Southampton (8/1) are other possibilities, whilst a reunion with Brendan Rodgers at Celtic is priced at 25/1.

“Yesterday we thought everything was coming together for a return to Turf Moor for Danny Ings, but today the bets that we have taken suggest that most people are starting to think a move to Newcastle is on the cards,” said Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead.
