Courtois odds-on to leave Chelsea for Real Madrid

Blues number one could be on his way

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is odds-on to join Real Madrid this summer, according to the latest Coral odds.

Courtois’ current contract only has a year left to run and Chelsea haven’t been able to tie him down to an extension.

Real Madrid have been linked with several goalkeepers as a replacement for Keylor Navas. And Courtois’ contract situation could put him at the top of their shortlist.

He’s now 10/11 to sign for Real Madrid. Atletico Madrid are second in the betting but back at 6/1.

If the Belgian does go, Chelsea will need to bring in a replacement. It’s 6/1 that they go for Stoke City’s Jack Butland.

“If Courtois won’t sign a new deal then Chelsea will have no choice but to move him on whilst they can command a big fee, and Real Madrid now seems extremely likely to be his destination come September,” said Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead.
