A new manager could be installed quickly…

Marco Silva has opened up as the odds-on favourite at 4/7 to be the next permanent Everton manager after Sam Allardyce left the Merseyside club this morning.

Shakhtar Donetsk boss Paulo Fonseca is second best in the betting at 2/1, David Moyes is 6/1 for a return to Goodison Park. At bigger prices, Arsene Wenger is 16-1.

“Marco Silva was linked with Everton the last time they were searching for a manager and it is the former Watford boss who is the warm odds-on favourite to replace Sam Allardyce,” said Coral’s John Hill.

“Paulo Fonseca is the interesting name which is attracting some early money, while some punters believe Arsene Wenger may remain in the Premier League to take up the position,” added Hill.
