Meanwhile Coleman could replace him at Swansea

Carlos Carvalhal only left Swansea City earlier today, but the Portuguese boss is already 5/2 favourite to take over at Stoke City.

Next in the betting is Graham Potter at 3/1. However, if it isn’t Potter in the Potteries, the job could go to Mick McCarthy at 7/1, or 8/1 shots Martin O’Neill and Quique Sanchez Flores.

Carvalhal’s exit from South Wales also leaves the Swansea hotseat up for grabs.

Former Wales manager Chris Coleman leads the betting at 2/1, while Ostersunds boss Potter is also 3/1 for this job.

Meanwhile, it’s 8/1 for Swans legend Leon Britton to take over the reins, and there’s 9/1 on offer for Michael Laudrup to return to the Liberty Stadium hotseat.

Coral’s John Hill said: “Carlos Carvalhal has just left Swansea, however, we don’t believe he will be out of work for long as he has opened up as the favourite to be the next Stoke manager.”

Hill added: “Chris Coleman is the favourite to return to Wales, this time as Swansea’s latest manager, while we continue to see strong money for Mike Arteta replacing Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.”
