Tips and info ahead of semi-final second-leg

Liverpool face Roma tonight knowing that they’re one match away from facing Real Madrid in the Champions League final.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are in the driving seat after winning the first leg 5-2. But Roma’s two late away goals has given them hope.

After coming back from three goals down against Barcelona in the quarter-finals, the Romans will believe they can do it again.

And the Coral News Team have all the odds and info ahead of the second leg at the Stadio Olimpico…

Head to Head

The first leg at Anfield was the first competitive meeting between these two since 2002. Liverpool had won two and Roma one of the previous five clashes.

The Merseyside club come into this on the back of just one defeat in their last eight away games.

Roma have won five of their last six at home. Barcelona, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid have all failed to leave Rome with a win this term too.

Likely XIs

Roma v Liverpool teams

Roma will be without Kevin Strootman and Diego Perotti, which is a major blow for them. Lorenzo Pellegrini and Stephan El Shaarawy are the most likely replacements.

Liverpool are likely to name the same side that started at Anfield, with the exception of Georginio Wijnaldum coming in for the injured Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Key Battles

After their high line was torn apart last week, Roma are set to ditch the back three and go with a back four. That should prevent the Liverpool attack from running riot again.

But Roma have to play on the front foot here. They’ll need to strike a balance so they don’t leave too much space for the likes of Mohamed Salah to exploit.

Liverpool know exactly what they have to do. As long as they don’t lose by three or more goals, they are in the final.

But they looked shaky when Roma put them under pressure in the closing stages at home. They’ll need their experienced players to step up here.

Match Odds

Liverpool are clear 1/16 favourites to make it to Kiev, with Roma out at 7/1.

The Reds are 29/20 favourites to edge it on the night too. The hosts are 31/20, with the draw available at 14/5.

As Roma have to go for it and Liverpool have so much firepower, there are likely to be goals here. Liverpool and Both Teams to Score is 3/1. Over 3.5 Goals is 19/20 too.

Former Roma man Salah is 3/1 to score first on his former stomping ground. He’s 14/5 to get 2 or More as well.

The Italian side will look to Edin Dzeko for goals. He’s bagged in each of his last four Champions League appearances. He’s 21/20 to make it five in a row. You can get 6/10 on him to have 4+ shots too.
