Racing Tips: Tomily, Yala Enki and Hunaina get our backing

Preview, stats and tips ahead of Saturday’s racing

The Grand National may be only a week away, but there’s plenty of top quality racing action to enjoy before that on Saturday.

Six contests from Kelso and Kempton form a special K card, with the Snowdrop Fillies’ Stakes taking centre-stage on the all-weather.

Mudlark Yala Enki will also be gunning for success over fences, while Tomily is our pick of the bunch on the Polytrack.

The Coral News Team have previewed all of the Saturday action below…

Tomily is the tops

There’s not a great deal of form to choose from in the 2:05 at Kempton. So it makes sense to side with the impressive Tomily, who has won on his last two all-weather starts at this level.

Richard Hannon’s raider has looked better than ever of late and should be able to defy a career-high mark once again as he goes in search of the three-timer.

A Momentofmadness will provide the main danger. But with Tomily having beaten the five-year-old at Lingfield, last month, the Irish-bred raider should have nothing to fear. The trainer also has a 27% strike rate over the past 14 days.

Old favourite Yala Enki rides again

This is a horse the Coral News Team love. And with good reason – he’s delivered for us on numerous occasions in his career.

Venetia Williams’ charge has enjoyed commendable runs in Listed company before now. But his best moment came in the Grand National Trial two months ago. The eight-year-old defied odds of 8/1 to land the Haydock prize by an incredible 57l from 2018 Grand National favourite Blaklion.

That run was in large part down to the heavy ground. And with the mudlark set to get his favoured conditions once again at Kelso on Saturday, our pick should defy competitors Baywing and Wild West Wind.

His mark of 144 is a slight concern. Although that’s negated by the fact he won this contest of just 6lb lower last year.

French crusade again at Kempton

The last five winners of the Snowdrop Fillies have come at prices of 4/1, 3/1, 15/8, 10/11 and 5/2. That tells us it pays to stick near the top of the market in this one.

So on the back of the French success at Newcastle last week, it’s H-F Devin’s runner Hunaina who gets the nod from us.

The four-year-old is three from five on the all-weather and hit the frame in a Listed contest at Deauville in January.

He followed that up by turning over the 4/5 favourite at Chantilly last month. 1m looks to be his distance. And in a nice tight field, he can take home the major honours for the French for a second week in a row.
