Man City odds-on to retain Premier League crown next season
Odds also suggest a successful Wolves return
Manchester City were confirmed as Premier League champions yesterday, with five games of the season remaining. And the latest odds from Coral make Pep Guardiola’s men odds-on to retain the title next term.
City are just 8/11 to win the Prem in 2018-19, with Liverpool second in the running at odds of 9/2.
It’s 6/1 for Manchester United to lift the trophy, and they’re followed by a London trio of Chelsea (9/1), Tottenham (10/1) and Arsenal (20/1).
Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “It’s very rare to see a side odds on well before the start of a campaign but such has been City’s dominance this season we think that they’re worthy favourites to lift the trophy again next season.”
Meanwhile, the odds also suggest a successful campaign awaits newly-promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Black Country club are 1/10 to avoid relegation, with 11/8 for a top-half finish. Meanwhile, Nuno Espirito Santo’s men are 6/1 to crack the top-six.
Aitkenhead added: “Wolves will be sure to splash the cash in the summer and it would be a huge surprise to see them go straight back down. A top six finish is not beyond the realms of possibility if they do strengthen heavily.”
