Scudamore says: “I’m very confident Friday Night Light can win this”

Coral ambassador is at Sandown and Market Rasen

The last few days have been good. I rode a nice couple of winners on Thursday and had a winner for Colin Tizzard earlier in the week.

It’s especially nice to ride some winners after you’ve had a week off because of the weather.

Cheltenham Festival

I’m really looking forward to the Cheltenham Festival. I should have around 12 rides across the four days, with some decent chances in the handicaps for David, the likes of Kings Socks in the Brown Advisory Handicap Chase, Vaniteux in the Grand Annual and Moon Racer in the County Hurdle.

Know The Score will run in the Bumper, and Ramses De Teillee should run in the Ultima.

I will ride Shoal Bay, one of the outsiders in the Supreme, and Padleyourowncanoe in the Fred Winter.

Saturday

1.50 Sandown – First Assignment

First Assignment won nicely at Huntingdon last time. He’s a horse I like. I’ve ridden him twice, second around Lingfield and then won at Huntingdon.

This always works out to be a good race. It will be his Gold Cup. I will be interested to see how soft the ground is. They are calling it soft and there is loads of rain forecast.

He deserves to take his chance. This is his big target for the year. He’s a good horse and will make a lovely chaser.

This is always a tough race. Many Clouds won it, Albertas Run won it.

2.25 Sandown – Friday Night Light

Friday Night Light has the visor on for the first time which I think will help him. He’s tailormade for this race. I’m very confident that he can win this.

The two miles will suit, as will the stiff uphill finish. He’s improved with every run and yes he’s got to improve again. He’s got a 3lb pull with Le Patriote from last time.

That was a very good run and I can see conditions at Sandown suiting my horse even better than they did at Ascot. We’ve now got to go and do it.

I won the Imperial Cup on Baltimore Rock in 2014 which is a while ago now so I’d like to do it again.

3.00 Sandown – Queens Cave

She is a nice filly. I was very impressed with her when she won at Uttoxeter.

It’s a good race tomorrow but Queens Cave is a filly I like an awful lot. We’ve been waiting for this race. I’m going there with lots of confidence in her chance.

Sunday

2.00 Market Rasen – Sizing Cusimano

He’s been running okay. Brian Ellison’s Ballyvic Boru runner sets the standard. I won on him around Perth and he’s a nice horse.

It’s a small field which will suit and whilst he has to turn the form around with Brian Ellison’s runner we’ll give it a shot.

4.10 Market Rasen – Zanstra

Zanstra has been running well. I won on him a few years ago at Huntingdon. He has been running consistently and I think he has a great chance.

He’s my best chance of the day. He deserves to get is head back in front and I’m hopeful of a big run

4.40 Market Rasen – Milly Baloo

Milly Baloo was unfortunate not to win last time. The race was in safe keeping but then she ran out through the wing. I’m obviously hoping for none of those shenanigans on Sunday.

She showed how much ability she has before that aberration. I’ve ridden for Tim on plenty of occasions over the years.

They are a fantastic racing family, and my Dad use to ride for Peter a lot back in the day.
