Mohamed Salah 6/1 to break Ian Rush’s Liverpool record
Egyptian star also backed for PFA Player of the Year
Mohamed Salah needs 12 goals in Liverpool’s remaining fixtures this season to break Ian Rush’s record of 47 goals in all competitions in one season.
Rush fired in 47 goals in all competitions during the 1983-84 season. Salah is currently on 36 and Coral is offering odds of 6/1 for it to happen.
Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “It’s been a sensational first year for Mohamed Salah at Liverpool and our odds show he’s now in with a real chance of breaking a record that has stood since 1984.”
“However he’s likely to need his side to progress further in Europe to stand any chance, much like Rush did in the 1983-84 season when Liverpool won the European Cup.” Aitkenhead added.
Salah’s stunning form has led to much speculation about a potential move from Anfield and Coral make Real Madrid the 4/1 favourites to be his next club.
It’s shaping up to be a battle with their big rivals Barcelona who are 5/1 for his signature.
“There can be no denying that Salah is now amongst the hottest properties in the footballing world and we’re predicting a tussle between the two Spanish giants to be his next club, with Madrid narrow favourites,” summarised Aitkenhead.
Finally Salah is now 11/8 with Coral to be PFA Player of the Year, having been backed in from 3/1 following his four goal demolition of Watford.
Kevin de Bruyne is the favourite still at 4/7.
