Barcelona and Rennes amongst the picks

Sunday sees a huge Premier League clash, as Liverpool visit Tottenham Hotspur. But there’s also top football further afield, with games from some of Europe’s top leagues.

The Coral News Team have compiled a five-fold acca on the day’s action, which they’re hoping can bring you joy.

If it comes in, a £5 bet on the below selections would pay out a handsome £148.72. Odds correct at time of writing.

Here are their picks for the day’s action…

Barcelona -1 (v. Espanyol)

Derby day has nearly always been a happy one for Barca in recent years. As well as knocking Espanyol out of the Copa Del Rey this season, the Nou Camp outfit have also won 11 of the last 12 league meetings.

In La Liga, Ernesto Valverde’s table-toppers have won seven on the trot. Six of those victories have been recorded by a margin of two or more goals. That includes a 3-0 defeat of Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.

As for Sunday’s hosts, Periquitos have lost their last two league games – including a 3-0 home loss to Sevilla. The Barcelona -1 handicap looks good value at 20/23.

Rennes to beat Guingamp

Guingamp have been decent on their own patch, but have struggled on their visits to Ligue 1’s big boys. In six away trips to top-half sides this season, they’ve failed to pick up a single point.

That record is likely to continue against a Rennes side who’ve won five of their last seven league games at Roazhon Park.

Add the fact that Les Rouges et Noirs took maximum points during their last home meeting with Guingamp, and Rennes to Win looks a solid addition at Evens.

Augsburg v Eintracht Frankfurt: Both Teams to Score

Despite mixed form of late, Augsburg are always good for a goal on their own patch. In fact, they’ve scored in 17 successive home games. But they’ve only managed four clean sheets in that run.

Their visitors on Sunday are a Frankfurt side who tend to be involved in high-scoring games. Each of their last six league away games have seen both sides register.

The pair’s Head-to-Head record also points to goals. All of the last three meetings have seen both clubs find the net. Both Teams to Score is a 10/11 shot.

Liverpool v Tottenham: First Half – Over 1.5 Goals

Tottenham Hotspur have started strongly in recent weeks, and Wednesday’s 2-0 defeat of Manchester United saw Spurs take the lead after a mere 11 seconds.

That marked the third Premier League game in succession where they’ve scored before the interval.

As for the Reds, they’ve slammed home three first-half goals in their last two games – but also conceded the same number. Over 1.5 First-Half Goals is a 6/4 addition to this acca.

Second Half Result: Atalanta (v. Chievo)

Chievo Verona are rock bottom of the Serie A form table, taking just two points from their last eight games.

I Gialloblu have been especially poor in the second half of games. In their last five matches, they’ve been outscored after the break in four of them – conceding a combined eight goals, and scoring just one.

In-form Atalanta are likely to punish the visitors’ defensive frailties. La Dea have won three of their last five games, including victories over AC Milan and AS Roma. Second-Half Result: Atalanta at 4/6 looks a good addition.
