Bet of the Day: Crystal Palace to see off Newcastle at Selhurst

Hodgson’s men enjoying good run at home

Selhurst Park has been a tough place for visiting sides since Roy Hodgson took the Crystal Palace hotseat. And a patchy Newcastle United side are likely to be the next side to come unstuck in this corner of South London.

The Eagles have won five and drawn four of their last 10 home games in all competitions.

That included victories over Antonio Conte’s Chelsea, and the Prem’s surprise package – Burnley.

Sunday sees the visit of a Newcastle United side who’ve lost seven of their last 11 away games, and were mauled 5-1 on their last visit to Selhurst Park. Coral’s Bet of the Day is Crystal Palace to Win at Evens.

Both sides likely to register

While the Magpies are pretty underwhelming on their travels, they do tend to give the travelling Toon Army something to celebrate. They’ve registered in seven of their previous 10 games on the road, including goals at Old Trafford and the Etihad.

As for Hodgson’s side, they’ve netted in 10 of their last 11 fixtures – including putting three past Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

Add in the fact that four of the last six meetings between these clubs have seen both sides register, and Both Teams to Score at 10/11 looks a smart bet.

Meanwhile, the more ambitious could be rewarded with a bet on Over 3.5 Goals at 29/10.

In-form Eagles ace could find the net

One man who’s played a big part in Palace’s turnaround under Hodgson is winger Bakary Sako.

The Malian international has scored in four of the Eagles’ last nine matches. That included netting the winner in the last home game – against Burnley.

Sako to Score Anytime looks backable at odds of 11/5. However, with the capital club  having won three of the last four matches he’s netted in, Sako to Score and Palace to Win could offer the best value at 10/3.
