Bet of the Day: In-form AFC Fylde to breeze past lowly Chester
Play-offs still possible for the Coasters
AFC Fylde are the National League’s form team right now. The Coasters have won three games on the trot, including a 5-2 rout of Tranmere Rovers at Mill Farm.
Their visitors on Tuesday night are relegation-threatened Chester. The Blues have the joint-fewest away wins in the division, with two.
Despite victory over Ebbsfleet United on Saturday, they’re continuing to struggle for form. The Christmas period saw a 2-0 home loss to Guiseley, and a 4-0 mauling at Halifax Town.
Each of Fylde’s last four home victories have come by a margin of two goals or more. Coral’s Bet of the Day is AFC Fylde -1 at 21/10.
Rowe ready to make an impact again
While the Coasters are far from a one-man team, it’s hard to overstate the importance of striker Danny Rowe.
The 28-year-old netted an astonishing 48 goals in the National League North last term, and has impressed again this term, with 19 in all competitions thus far.
He’s up against a Chester defence which has managed just five clean sheets in their 27 league outings. Add in the fact he netted in the pair’s last meeting, and Rowe to Score Anytime looks good value at Evens.
Hosts could strike on either side of the break
While the hosts are currently seven points off the play-off spots, it isn’t for a lack of goals. Dave Challinor’s side are the joint-fourth highest scorers in the division, with 42 goals in their 26 games.
Fylde have regularly been strong throughout the 90 minutes. They’ve netted either side of half-time in four of their last 11 games.
The Coasters could well make it five in 12, as they face a leaky Blues defence. Fylde to Score in Both Halves is a 13/8 shot.
