Terrific-looking top-six clash in the Midlands

It’s a Friday night cracker from the Championship as Derby County host Bristol City at Pride Park.

Derby have been on a sensational run during the last couple of months. The Rams are unbeaten in the last eight league games, winning six and drawing two.

Gary Rowett’s side have powered their way up the table playing a solid but not overly expansive style of football. Derby have conceded none in six of those eight games in that unbeaten run.

That’s a polar opposite stat to that of their opponents, Bristol City. The Robins have lost their last three straight league games and slid down the table from a league-high second.

Lee Johnson’s side do play expansive, free-flowing football, though. However, in the three consecutive defeats, they have conceded eight and scored just once.

The form is all with Derby in this one and that’s why they are the Coral Bet of the Day at 21/20.

We should see goals under the lights

Goals have been a staple of this pair’s recent clashes. There have been three of more scored in the last six meetings. That included a 3-3 draw at Pride Park last February.

The Rams have scored 22 in 13 games at home with the Robins finding the back of the net 20 times in 13 away games.

The kicker here is that City conceded plenty on the road – 18 times, in fact, in those 13 fixtures.

The way both teams set up means this one will surely see plenty of goalmouth action. Over 2.5 Goals is nicely-priced at 11/10 and Over 3.5 Goals is a very generous 13/5.

Two top goal-getters involved

In a game of such magnitude, it’s nice to see two of the Championship’s top scorers involved.

Derby’s Matej Vydra is the league’s most prolific marksman with 15 goals to date. He’s most likely to find the net for the Rams Anytime at 7/5.

For Bristol City, Bobby Reid has amassed 12 goals and three assists from his no.10 position in the Robins line-up.

The 24-year-old is 2/1 to find the net Anytime and 11/2 to be First Goalscorer.
