Nicky Henderson’s charge now firm fave

There’s been a shake-up in the odds for the King George VI Chase, following the announcement that Sizing John has been ruled out of the big one Kempton.

As it stands, Nicky Henderson’s Might Bite is now 11/8 for glory on Boxing Day, though the biggest mover has been Fox Norton. Colin Tizzard’s charge has been cut from 8/1 to 6/1 to win the prestigious hunt race.

Sizing John had originally been a 5/1 shot to win at Kempton, and the seven-year-old’s absence is good news for the other hopefuls.

Bristol De Mai is a 7/2 shot, with Thistlecrack at 6s. Meanwhile, Willie Mullins’ Douvan will be looking to recapture his 2016 form and could prove popular at 10/1.

“With Sizing John not taking part in the King George, Might Bite has shortened at the head of the horse race  betting , while the chances of Fox Norton representing the same connections as Sizing John at Kempton appear to have increased, particularly as trainer Colin Tizzard is keen to step his charge up in distance after his Tingle Creek reverse last weekend,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
