NFL Week 14: Steelers’ double-whammy, AFC West showdown & more
Huge weekend of Gridiron action awaits
There are now just four games of the NFL Regular Season left, and every single playoff place is still up for grabs. However, that looks set to change once the dust settles on this weekend’s matches.
Pittsburgh Steelers are on course to win the AFC North, and can all-but-end the Wild Card hopes of their big rivals in the process.
Meanwhile, it’s far more unpredictable in the AFC West, with the top three level on 6-6 ahead of a huge game in Missouri.
Can Steelers harm rivals and secure playoff spot?
The Steelers boast the joint-best record in the NFL, with 10 wins from their 12 outings so far. Antonio Brown has arguably been the star man, with nine Touchdowns. But it’s been a real team effort.
Victory this weekend would ensure their place in the playoffs, and in the process essentially end the Wild Card hopes of their fierce AFC North rivals, Baltimore Ravens.
The Steelers have won eight of their last nine home games, and enjoyed victory in the last two Head-to-Heads. However, the Ravens are on a good run of their own – so they’re likely to make it tough for Mike Tomlin’s men.
In the Money Line, the Steelers are hot favourites at 2/5. However, with four of Pittsburgh’s last five wins coming by a margin of five points or less, the Coral News Team like Winning Margin: Pittsburgh 1-6 Points at odds of 5/2.
Will the winner take it all in AFC West?
The AFC West looks set for a dramatic conclusion, with the top three sides all having a 6-6 record so far. Two of those sides face off this weekend, as Oakland Raiders face Kansas City Chiefs.
It’s KC who have home advantage, but the Raiders have form on their side. They head into Sunday’s clash having won three of their previous four games. As for Kansas, their 5-0 start to the season is long forgotten, following six losses in seven.
The pair’s last meeting finished with a 31-30 victory for the Raiders, who produced a thrilling fourth-quarter comeback.
That game seemingly killed the Chiefs’ momentum, and it’s unlikely we’ll see a Kansas resurgence in this weekend’s showdown. Oakland to Win looks generously priced at 17/10, while OAK Raiders Total Points: Over 28 could prove an inspired bet at 16/5.
Is Titans nine-year wait set to end?
The last decade has been a lean one for Tennessee Titans fans. They’ve failed to make the playoffs since the 2008 season. They finished rock bottom of the AFC South in 2014 and 2015, with a combined record of 5-27 for the two seasons.
However, head coach Mike Mularkey has vastly transformed their fortunes. After a 9-7 record last year, they’re currently top of the division – though sharing an 8-4 record with Jacksonville Jaguars.
Sunday sees the Titans visit an Arizona Cardinals side marked by inconsistency. With the Titans grinding out one positive result after another, the Coral News Team like the TEN Titans -3.0 handicap at 19/20.
