Jonny Evans closing in on Man Utd return

The Red Devils are favourites to sign the centre-back

Manchester United could be set to re-sign West Bromwich Albion captain Jonny Evans in January, according to the latest Coral odds.

Evans only has 18 months left on his contract at the Hawthorns and he reportedly doesn’t intend to sign an extension.

The Baggies risk losing him on a free transfer if they don’t sell while his value remains relatively high.

United are 15/8 favourites to sign Evans, with rivals Manchester City 2/1 second favourites.

Arsenal are also in the race at 7/2, with Tottenham Hotspur 10/1 outsiders.

Evans made 198 appearances for United before leaving for West Brom in 2015.

Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “Lots of clubs were linked with Evans in the summer and now he looks set to leave we’re sure to see just as much in January. Manchester United are the early favourites in the betting but Manchester City are just behind them.”
