Coral’s bet of the day

  • De Villiers is arguably most destructive batsman in the world
  • South African smashed 129 off 52 last time out in IPL
  • Royal Challengers Bangalore must win to reach play-offs

AB de Villiers is 3/1 to be top Bangalore batsman

Royal Challengers Bangalore take on Kolkata Knight Riders in a must-win clash, if the southern Indian side are to have any chance of reaching the IPL play-offs this season with three matches to go.

Thankfully, they have just the man to guide them there in South Africa superstar AB de Villiers, who is the subject of Coral’s Monday bet of the day, with odds of 3/1 to be best batsman for his team.

Read on to find our why you should back this price…

De Villiers, 32, is in his prime years and has been in top form this IPL season, despite his bowlers letting Bangalore down on a few occasions. However, even if they are defeated, this market will still not be affected.

AB in top form ahead of crunch clash

Although the Royal Challengers have lost six of their 11 matches this season, the South African has top scored for his men a total of four times, including last time out in a crucial and highly convincing win over Gujarat Lions, who are above them in the table.

AB’s unbeaten 129 off just 52 deliveries, aided by opener Virat Kohli’s 109, helped set a whopping 248 target, that was met by just 104 in reply. The duo’s 229-run partnership, meanwhile, was the highest in IPL history.

It is not the first record that South Africa Test and ODI captain De Villiers has achieved in his mesmerising career, having got the fastest ever 50 (off 16), 100 (31) and 150 (64) in ODIs.

So, what are you waiting for? Take these odds of 3/1 now for De Villiers to top score for Bangalore, in this must-win game against second-placed Kolkata, to reap rewards.
